Media under pressure before election

Prior to the presidential election on March 4, the Russian authorities try to control the media and silence critical voices. Political talk shows have been cancelled and journalists fired.

Meanwhile, more and more Russians have access to independent reports through social and international media.

Benedicte Berner, Vice Head of Civil Rights Defenders board and media analyst with focus on Russia, is monitoring the media situation during the Presidential election. Hear her speak about the Russian media climate.

The seminar is moderated by Robert Hårdh, human rights lawyer and Executive Director at Civil Rights Defenders.
