NGO:s call for more transparent EU-Belarus dialogue
In cooperation with more than 50 Belarusian and international organisations we regularly compile reports regarding the human rights situation in Belarus. The reports capture key developments concerning civil society in Belarus and are designed to inform policymakers about developments in Belarus during the ongoing EU-Belarus Dialogue Process.
This is the seventh report, which captures the period between November 2008 and September 2010.
In October 2010, the EU will again consider its future relations with Belarus and the possibility of sanctions.
Fundamental civil and political rights remain seriously restricted. The persecution of civil activists, non-governmental organizations, independent journalists and pro-democratic politicians will most likely intensify on the eve of the Presidential elections.
