Fourth “FUTURA” Competition to be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina

On the 3rd to the 5th of July, the fourth “FUTURA” competition will be organised at the Municipal Court in Travnik (Bosnia and Herzegovina) by Civil Rights Defenders. The competition is a qualifying event for prospective participants of the Regional Moot Court Competition Before the European Court Of Human Rights.

Civil Rights Defenders launched “FUTURA” as a response to a growing interest in the Regional Moot Court Competition and the winner becomes a potential participant in the Regional Moot Court Competition. The competing teams of this years’ event are: “Dzemal Bijedic” (Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina), “Gorgija” (Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina), “Ansa FPN” (Vitez, Bosnia and Herzegovina) and “Universitas” (Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina). The event is organised as a series of human rights-related trial simulations where the teams compete with each other.

“FUTURA” is becoming increasingly important and recognizable amongst young law experts and future human rights defenders. It is seen as much more than just a qualifying stage for the Moot Court Competition before the European Court of Human Rights, it is also another chance to gain experience, knowledge and establish contacts amongst fellow law students” said Ena Bavcic, Programme Officer for Bosnia and Herzegovina at Civil Rights Defenders.

“FUTURA” 2015 is the fourth edition of the event, and the previous three were held in Novi Sad (Serbia), Zrenjanin (Serbia) and Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
